CIT 111 ASSIGNMENT
If you are coming from a boarding school in Nigeria
like I am, you too would have heard a whole lot about Covenant University. On
arriving at the campus, I realized three major things about what I heard back
then. Some of those things are true, a lot of them are false and there is more
to most of them.
No phone and sim card... This is a rule which I would
say is their most popular rule amongst their others. But the truth is as a
student at Covenant University, any device excluding phones is allowed and the
school provides sufficient Wi-Fi for us to have access to social media and the
internet in general.
Another thing I heard about was that there were
countless Chapel services, but there are only five hours of Chapel in a week.
Yes......in a week and these services are so wonderful I would like to go for
more of them. The way the services are organized makes me want to spend more
time in the Chapel and see I am joining the choir soon
When I say Covenant University has food options, I
mean it. From shawarma to suya
to fruits and to waffles and many others. However, most of this food will be
burnt very quickly on the walk to the lecture theatre from our halls of
residence. The lectures here are empowering and make me understand why the
university is ranked so highly. Although I am not the biggest fan of large
classes it is something I am learning to adjust to.
My stay here at Covenant University has been a bundle
of new experiences so far. After the hours of orientation, we did on the first
week of arrival, I feel more ready than ever to conquer this coming semester. I
have met a lot of wonderful people, both lecturers and students, already and I
can already feel myself growing. A saying goes that ' Diamonds are made under
pressure'. Life as a Covenant University student is not the easiest thing to do
but I can already see the diamond I will be when I graduate in five years.
Until next time........
